Ever have one of those years?

Man, you would not believe the last few months.  Oh wait, you probably would, based on the extreme lack of posting here.

Let me explain.  No, that will take too long - let me sum up.

There's an old saying, "The traditional reward for a job well done, is a harder job."  That is sooooo true - and I'm living proof of it.  Here I was, happy as a clam, out training Soldiers, when WHAM! - Welcome to Brigade Staff.

Seems someone noticed that I have experience as a Brigade S1 in the past, and since that someone happens to wear an eagle on his uniform, and needed an S1, well the rest is history.  Needless to say, I have been eyeball deep in trying to pick up and rebuild the section I inherited.  I have good people, but they've been very poorly managed and led, and its been basically 2 full time jobs for me to get us to the point where we are functioning at the most basic level I can accept for a Brigade staff section.

Of course, now that I've raised the bar, the only place we can go is up.  Oh, my aching head...
